Wedding Shower Brunch at the Lake

Watermelon feta salad at the ready!

Yesterday, my sister and I collaborated on a brunch given for Brie, a lovely bride to be,  given by a group of her Mom's closest friends.  Brie spent her summers since she was a little girl, at her family's cottage at Lake Erie, so the logical place to host it was at Long Beach...

The request was for a pretty, feminine tea/brunch with easy to maneuver finger foods and drinks...

Micki catered the food and I arranged the flowers....it isn't often that we get to work on the same project...

Everything she makes is completely hand made, no boxed or frozen ingredients, she is fresh obsessed! In the above photo you can see her Parmesan, black pepper breadsticks, made to accompany the gingered beet soup, served cold and in tiny shot glasses.

Small pate choux puffs were filled with a mixture of flaked ham and shredded Emmenthal cheese, tiny croissants filled with egg salad and of course the requisite scones. There were savoury cheese and cherry walnut...some cut into a heart shape.

Of course I had to find the colour of rose to match the chilled beet soup!

The light as air scones....

Chocolate budino and tiny individual pavlova were irrestible sweet treets!

Pavlova with fresh whipped cream, lemon curd and fresh berries....

In the foreground, double chocolate cupcakes, iced with peanut butter, butter cream icing, chopped peanuts and shaved chocolate....too delicious!

Sweet cherries, from local orchards in Jordan, where I live, also were presented...

......and used in the table arrangements as well.

I used my vintage silver pieces to hold the floral arrangements...

They suited the occasion to a tea! With vintage linen luncheon napkins....

.....a special touch for the occasion, white chocolate dipped shortbread hearts...

I love when an event comes together...the planning, the vision behind it, and of course the hard work and collaboration by everyone involved....but the most satisfying part is the gratitude and appreciation given by the lovely and sweet recipient, Brie! It was our pleasure, Brie!
